Amigold 50 MG Tablet belongs to a group of drugs known as anti-psychotics. Essentially prescribed to patients who suffer from schizophrenia, Amigold 50 MG Tablet treats the symptoms of this mental disorder and controls the condition. It alters certain chemical substances in the brain so as to improve the behavior and thoughts of schizophrenic patients. Before your doctor prescribes Amigold 50 MG Tablet, he will inquire about your medical history. Inform him in detail about current health problems that you are facing and the medication you are on. Also inform him if you are allergic to any medicines or food. For example, inform him if you face any kidney or liver troubles, have diabetes or Parkinson?s disease or if you suffer from epileptic fits. Inform you doctor if you are taking any particular medication to treat Parkinson?s disease, other mental health issues, malaria etc. as they may interfere with the effect of Amigold 50 MG Tablet. The drug is not meant for consumption by pregnant women and nursing mothers as it may harm the child. The babies of pregnant women who have taken Amigold 50 MG Tablet during their last trimester may suffer from side effects like weakness, stiffness in the muscles, breathing troubles and drowsiness. In case your child does show any of the above mentioned symptoms get in touch with your doctor immediately. Meant for oral consumption, Amigold 50 MG Tablet should be taken before food. Patients on this drug are told to avoid alcohol consumption as it may affect the action of Amigold 50 MG Tablet. It is also advised that driving or used of machines should be avoided as Amigold 50 MG Tablet can cause drowsiness and change in vision. When it comes to dosage, your doctor may prescribe you a dose ranging from 50 mg to 800 mg daily. In some cases a daily dose of 1200 mg may also be prescribed. The doctor may initially start you off with a low dosage and increase it depending on your body?s reaction to Amigold 50 MG Tablet.

Side effects of Amigold Tablet

Nausea, Vomiting, Dry mouth, Constipation, Weight gain, Decreased blood pressure, Dystonia, Akathisia, Parkinsonism, Increased prolactin level in blood.

 

How to use Amigold Tablet

Take this medicine in the dose and duration as advised by your doctor. Swallow it as a whole. Do not chew, crush or break it. Amigold 50mg Tablet may be taken with or without food, but it is better to take it at a fixed time.
 
Expert advice for Amigold Tablet
Inform your doctor if you have kidney disease, have ever had fits (epileptic seizures), Parkinson’s disease, or suffering from dementia.
Inform your doctor if you have/have a family history of heart disease, uneven heart rate, slow heartbeat, heart disease/condition called prolonged QT interval, stroke, diabetes, blood clots, low levels of potassium in blood, low levels of white blood cells in blood (agranulocytosis).
Do not drive or operate machinery as amisulpride can cause drowsiness.
Do not consume alcohol while on this treatment as it may worsen the side effects.
Do not stop amisulpride suddenly as it may increase the side effects.
Seek immediate medical attention if you observe any of these symptoms: severe allergic reaction (with rash, itchy skin, swollen face, tongue or other body parts); blood clots; fit (seizure).
Tell your doctor if you are or are planning to become pregnant or are breast-feeding.

Pregnancy
Amigold 50mg Tablet may be unsafe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown adverse effects on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. The benefits from use in pregnant women may be acceptable despite the risk. Please consult your doctor.
Driving
Do not drive unless you are feeling well.
You may feel less alert, drowsy or sleepy while taking this medicine. This may affect your driving ability.
Kidney
Amigold 50mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Amigold 50mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Use of Amigold 50mg Tablet is not recommended in patients with severe kidney disease.
Liver
Amigold 50mg Tablet is probably safe to use in patients with liver disease. Limited data available suggests that dose adjustment of Amigold 50mg Tablet may not be needed in these patients. Please consult your doctor.
