Uses of Azicron Tablet
Azicron 500mg Tablet is used in the treatment of bacterial infections and typhoid fever.
It is used in bacterial infections of tonsils, sinus, ear, nose, throat, skin and soft tissues, windpipe and lungs (pneumonia).

Side effects of Azicron Tablet

Nausea, Vomiting, Abdominal pain, Diarrhoea, Allergy.

How Azicron Tablet works

Azicron 500mg Tablet is a macrolide antibiotic. It stops bacterial growth by inhibiting synthesis of essential proteins, which are required by bacteria to carry out vital functions.

  • Your doctor has prescribed Azicron to cure your infection and improve symptoms.
  • It is better to take with food to avoid an upset stomach.
  • Do not skip any doses and finish the full course of treatment even if you feel better.
  • Diarrhea may occur as a side effect but should stop when your course is complete.
  • Inform your doctor if it doesn't stop or if you find blood in your stools.
  • Do not take antacids 2 hours before or after taking Azicron.

Azicron 500mg Tablet is probably safe to use during pregnancy.
Animal studies have shown low or no adverse effect on the foetus, however, there are limited human studies. Please consult your doctor.
Lactation

Azicron 500mg Tablet is safe to use during lactation. Human studies have shown that either the drug does not pass into the breastmilk in significant amount or is not expected to cause toxicity to the baby.
There may be a possibility of diarrhea or rash in the baby.
Driving
SAFE
Azicron 500mg Tablet does not usually affect your ability to drive.
Kidney
 
Azicron 500mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease. Dose adjustment of Azicron 500mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
Liver
CAUTION
Azicron 500mg Tablet should be used with caution in patients with liver disease. Dose adjustment of Azicron 500mg Tablet may be needed. Please consult your doctor.
 
Severely interacts with other drugs like
Riztran 10mg Tablet, Riztran 5mg Tablet, Danavir 600mg Tablet, Walacort 0.5mg Tablet
 

Missed Dosage

If you miss a dose of Azithromycin, take it as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular schedule. Do not double the dose.
