How to works How Flexabenz Gel works Flexabenz Gel is a combination of four medicines: Cyclobenzaprine Topical, Diclofenac Topical, Menthol and Methyl Salicylate which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Cyclobenzaprine Topical is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles. Diclofenac Topical is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Menthol and Methyl Salicylate are topical analgesics (pain relievers). They work by first cooling the skin then warming it up. This cooling and warming up action improves blood circulation and distracts from feeling the pain.
