How to works How Cycoline Syrup works Cycoline Syrup is a combination of two medicines: Cyproheptadine, tricholine citrate and sorbitol which revive appetite. Cyproheptadine is an appetite-stimulant. It works by reducing the effect of serotonin (a chemical messenger) in the hypothalamus, a part of the brain which regulates appetite. Tricholine citrate is a bile acid binding agent. It removes bile acids from the body. The liver then produces more bile acids using cholesterol, as a result, the levels of cholesterol in the body is lowered. Sorbitol acts as a syrup base and also as an osmotic laxative to relieve constipation.
