Laxator is a liquid preparation indicated for relief from constipation.
The active ingredients in laxator are milk of magnesia (11.25 ml) and liquid paraffin (3.75 ml). Milk of magnesia as the name suggests is a solution of magnesium hydroxide and has a milk like appearance. Magnesium hydroxide counteracts the excess acid in the stomach and acts as an osmotic purgative. It draws water in to the intestinal lumen due to osmosis and aids in bowel movement. Liqiud paraffin is a pure mineral oil, it softens the stools thereby helping in complete emptying of the bladder.
Laxator syrup is indicated for relief of constipation, before a surgical or diagnostic procedure that requires emptying of the gastroinestinal tract.
Directions of use:
Take 15 mL of laxator syrup preferably in the evening or as directed by the physician.
