How to works How Coughtas DX Syrup works Coughtas DX Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Dextromethorphan, triprolidine, phenylephrine and menthol which relieve dry cough. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Triprolidine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Menthol is an organic compound which produces a sensation of coolness and relieves minor throat irritation.
