How Magnatuss Syrup works
Magnatuss Syrup is a combination of four medicines: Ammonium chloride, chlorpheniramine, dextromethorphan and guaifenesin which relieve cough and cold symptoms. Ammonium chloride and guaifenesin are expectorants which decrease the stickiness of mucus (phlegm) and help in its removal from the airways. Chlorpheniramine is an antiallergic which relieves allergy symptoms like runny nose, watery eyes and sneezing. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain.
