How to works	How Epicort MK Ointment works Epicort MK Ointment is a combination of five medicines: Betamethasone Topical, Lactic Acid Bacillus Rhamnosus, Salicylic Acid, Sodium Lactate, and Urea which treat eczema and psoriasis. Betamethasone Topical is a steroid which blocks the production of certain chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that make the skin red, swollen and itchy. Salicylic Acid, Sodium Lactate and Urea are keratolytic medicines which break down keratin clumps, remove dead skin cells and soften the skin. They also enhance the absorption of Betamethasone Topical into the skin.
