How to works How Thiorub Liniment works THIORUB LINIMENT is a combination of five medicines: Thiocolchicoside, Diclofenac, Methyl salicylate, Menthol and Camphor which relieve pain and relax the muscles. Thiocolchicoside is a muscle relaxant. It works on the centres in the brain and spinal cord to relieve muscle stiffness or spasm and to improve pain and movement of muscles. Diclofenac is a non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) which works by blocking the release of certain chemical messengers in the brain that cause pain and inflammation (redness and swelling). Methyl salicylate, Menthol and Camphor are topical analgesics (pain reliever). They work by first cooling the skin and then warming it up. This cooling and warming up action improves blood circulation and distracts from feeling the pain.
