How to works How Gastobid Tablet works Gastobid Tablet is a combination of two medicines: Isopropamide and Trifluoperazine. Isopropamide is an anticholinergic which works by blocking the binding of the acetylcholine (a chemical messenger) to its receptor in nerve cells. This relaxes the smooth muscles in the digestive tract and decreases the spasms. Trifluoperazine is a typical antipsychotic. It works by blocking the action of dopamine, a chemical messenger in the brain that affects thoughts and mood.
