How to works How Zirlon Plus Syrup works Zirlon Plus Syrup is a combination of three medicines: Dextromethorphan, Phenylephrine and Paracetamol / Acetaminophen which relieve dry cough. Dextromethorphan is a cough suppressant that relieves cough by reducing the activity of cough centre in the brain. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which narrows the small blood vessels providing relief from congestion or stuffiness in the nose. Paracetamol / Acetaminophen is an analgesic (pain reliever) and antipyretic (fever reducer). It works by blocking the production of the chemical messengers (prostaglandins) that transmit pain signals and induce fever.
