Expert advice for Newbona Infusion
Taken once a year by a 15-minute infusion. Take calcium and vitamin D to help build your bones when taking Newbona. Do not take during pregnancy or breastfeeding. Tell your doctor if you become pregnant while taking Newbona. Inform your doctor if you experience pain in jaw. This problem may be seen after dental work. Your doctor will monitor your response to Newbona by testing your bone mineral density (BMD). This is usually done every 1-3 years. Some patients develop fever or flu-like symptoms, such as chills, tiredness and weakness. These symptoms are usually mild-moderate and should go away after a few days. May cause nausea, vomiting, diarrhoea, headache, and pain in bones, joints and muscles. May cause atrial fibrillation (abnormal heart rhythm). Tell your doctor if you have a heart rhythm problem.
